Women and their emotional expression are central to my paintings. Their open posture conveys both vulnerability and strength, enhanced by how they blend into the background. My challenge lies not in likeness but in finding balance between tension and calm, at the edge of figuration and abstraction. Facial shapes shift to serve a balanced composition and atmosphere. Layering roughness with softness, opacity with transparency, creates a dynamic image. The eyes, together with the colors, define the mood and character of the piece.
